We begin with the conclusion of a three-column arc on grateful leadership from Susan Parente’s Not A Scrumdamentalist Column. In this installment, Susan and I discuss how servant leadership, commonly practiced by agilists, can combine with grateful leadership to be even more powerful.

Chapter 20 of Tame your Work Flow is titled Operational Governance in PEST Environments. Daniel Doiron describes this chapter as an ode to management by exception. There are two threads in this chapter that I highlight. The first is Steve and Daniel’s discussion on the need for different perspectives to identify the constraint in complicated environments. The second major component in the chapter is a discussion of an approach for governance. As I am quoted at the end of the chapter giving this book my highest praise, “this book is very useful.”
